Bobbi Peterson was born in Newark, New Jersey. She knew from an early age that she wanted to help people achieve the beautiful, healthy smiles they desired. Her academic journey began at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.
After completing dental school at Howard University in Washington, DC (the real HU), Dr. Bobbi completed her residency program at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. After completing this program, she was led to Maimonides Hospital in Borough Park Brooklyn to complete her orthodontic residency program where they only accept two qualified candidates per year. There she obtained a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Shortly after finishing at Maimonides, Dr. Bobbi ventured out on her own and quickly established her own private practice, in a family oriented, pleasant, and cozy setting. In her practice, Dr. Bobbi serves a multicultural and diverse community and is loved by her patients.
While building her practice, Dr. Bobbi dedicated herself to maintaining contact with the field of academia by working as a Resident Attending at King’s County Hospital. During her rise to the top of the orthodontic field, Dr. Bobbi has continued to give back and remains closely tied to underserved communities as a volunteer in the New York City and New Jersey school districts spending time educating and screening students for oral hygiene. She gives back to her home town by treating children at a large pediatric practice downtown Newark once a week. She has been recognized for these efforts and was distinguished by the School of Human Rights, with the Excellence in Achievement Award.
While running her own practice, Dr. Bobbi joined an extremely flourishing practice in Manhattan, NYC Cosmetic and General Dentistry to work side by side with the renowned dentist Dr. Catrise Austin, Dentist to the stars!
Since opening her doors, Dr. Bobbi has been the orthodontist of choice, for numerous celebrities. Despite the many demands on her time and schedule, Dr. Bobbi still finds time to contribute and make her expertise and experience available to push the profession forward. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, a Fellow with the World Federation of Orthodontics, and a Distinguished Consultant and Advisor in Dentistry to the National Institute of Medicine.
Dr. Bobbi has extensively lectured on orthodontic procedures on African American children with the Boston Institute of Orthodontics and received the Award of Excellence from the National Board of Dental Sciences, in 2013. She’s also been named Top Orthodontist in New York City by the International Association of Dentists in 2014, and sits on the board of numerous foundations and corporate enterprises, including the Africana Festival, based on Key West, Florida and ESB Home and Healthcare LLC in, East Orange New Jersey.
